Grooming Frequency

Between every 2 to 4 weeks depending on what type of clip they are in.  Regular maintenance such as brushing daily will help prolong the duration between professional grooming.  Check out our Meet the Breed (Grooming) tab for more info.

How Much does Grooming Cost?

Costs vary from state to state, but on average expect to pay 50$ - 200$ depending on what clip you are using.  We recommend calling local groomers near you prior to adding a puppy to your family.

Do Poodles  make good Apartment Pets?

Standard Poodles due to size and activty level do not make good Apartment pets.  Mini or Toy Poodles may do better with the smaller surroundings, however excersize is the key with anysize poodle.   They need to be walked daily to get that energy out.

How Much does a Poodle Puppy Cost?

The short answer is between $3,000 - $4,000 U.S.D.    Price can vary depending on titles of Sire and Dam, as well as what Health testing was completed.  The Cost can vary between Full Breeding rights and Limited.  Prices can vary from litter to litter so check back with your breeder frequently.  Depending on age, Supply & Demand, and litter costs, prices can fluctuate  tremendously.  Returning Puppy Buyers will Enjoy a lower price of around $2,000, but check with your breeder for final pricing.

Are Poodles good with Kids?

Poodles are excellent with children when raised with children.  Proper socializing of the poodle becomes vary imporant.  Adult supervision should be exercised with young children.

How many Litters do you typically have per year?

We usually do 1 to 2 litters per year, but sometimes we skip a year depending on how busy we are with dog shows and other activities.

What Type of Health testing do you do?

We test all of our Poodles to CHIC Standards which includes: OFA Hips, OFA Eye Exam, OFA Cardio Exam, NES, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Van Willebrands, Degenerative Myelopathy.

How soon can I bring my Puppy Home

8 Week Development Period.  Each Watts Poodle puppy goes through a complete Puppy Bootcamp to make sure it is ready for the world.  Potty training, crate training, house manners, socializing, as well as ENS Development in the Early stages.

Can we come see the poodles and where they are raised?

We dont except visitors while puppies are still developing, but once they are vaccinated and of age, appointments can be set up to visit our pack of poodles and see what puppy might suite your family.  We except visits by appointment only.

Can my Puppy be shipped to me?

For the saftey and well being of our puppies, we do not ship them.  Family's are welcome to fly out and escort puppy home, however we do not reccomend boarding the puppy at this age.  it can cause sever stress and anxiety and cause further issues down the road.

Do you have a Health Guarantee?

All puppies come with a 2 year health guarantee agains genetic issues.

What do the puppies go home with?

A Clean bill of health from our Vet, a fully detailed health history, age appropriate vaccines and de-worming.  We microchip them and give them some toys a dog beed and a starter bag of puppy food.

Do I have to own a house?

Renters need to provide copy of landloards pet policy as well as Lanlords Contact Info.

Do you breed Doodles?

No, we believe all the qualities you are looking for are in a pure bred Standard Poodle.  Doodles often times do not have health testing and often times are from back yard breeders.  They have no consistent temperament, coat type or size.  If you are thinking about a Doodle, feel free to contact us so we can tell you why thats a bad idea.

Do you breed   Merle Poodles

No,  Merle Poodles are mixed breed and not recognized by the AKC or UKC.  They are created by breeding a Standard Poodle and Australian Sheppard together.  If you are thinking about getting a Merle Poodle, feel free to contact us so we can tell you why thats a bad idea.
